When you install OnSong on your device, the Add To OnSong action is automatically installed. This lets you queue content for import from most apps on iOS and iPadOS. You'll need to enable the action once to use in apps like Safari, Photos, Pages, Notes, GarageBand, and any other app that makes use of the Sharing Menu. You can also transfer files from your Mac or PC.
Enabling the Add To OnSong Action
By default, actions are installed but not enabled. To enable the Add To OnSong action, simply open an app on your mobile device like Safari and locate the icon in the navigation bar that looks like a square with an up arrow. This will open the ubiquitous Share Activity Menu. This is the same menu where you can AirDrop, Email, or Print from in many apps.
iOS/iPadOS 13 or higher
If you are running iOS/iPadOS 13 or higher, locate the "Edit Actions..." link at the bottom of the list of actions and then turn on the switch next to Add To OnSong in the list.
iOS 12 or earlier
If you are running an older version of iOS, the actions list appears as a series of greyscale icons located under the colored icons in the menu. Swipe to the right to reveal more actions and if the Add To OnSong action is not present, tap on the "More..." icon on the far right. You can then enable the Add To OnSong action from the list.
Using the Add To OnSong Action
Once enabled, you're ready to start using the action. If you've found a song online in Safari that you want to import into OnSong, simply open the Share Activity Menu and tap on the Add To OnSong action. This will enqueue the content to be imported. You can repeat this process to enqueue more content to be imported. When finished, open OnSong and you'll be prompted to import those files. Please ensure that you're using the content found on web sites according to the terms of use of the service you are using.
