Song ideas come at the most inopportune times. It's important to jot those down immediately. One common way may be to use the Notes app on your phone to record and dictate lyrics. When you're ready to work on that song further, you may want to import those ideas into OnSong. You can use the Add To OnSong action to import selected text from the Notes app or anywhere else you can select text in iOS or iPadOS.
To do this, open the Notes app and locate a note that contains lyrical content you want to create into a song. Tap to open the keyboard and place the cursor within the lyrics. Use the built-in text selection tools to highlight the content you want to import. For instance, you can tap twice to open a menu and then choose Select All. Once selected, tap again to open the menu. You should now see a Share... option. Tap on this to open the Share Activity Menu.
Make sure that you've enabled the Add To OnSong action and then tap on it in the list. This will enqueue the selected text to be imported the next time you open OnSong.
It's important to note that the selected text will be created into a new song. The name of the song will be the first line of text that you've imported. You can also add additional information about the song by viewing the song and then opening the Song Editor. Type the name of the song on the first line and then leave a blank line between that and the lyrics. You can use the Metadata Editor Menu to specify more information. Review the Overview tutorial video for more details on how to make songs that work great in OnSong.
