OnSong has the ability to back up and restore just your OnSong library. This means you can install OnSong on any device in a pinch and import your backup file. OnSong can even do this automatically in the background after you have it all set up. We recommend using Dropbox since it will make your library available to be restored anywhere you have an Internet connection.
To backup, tap on the gear icon in the Menubar to open the Utilities Menu and then choose Backup. From the Backup Screen, choose an Export Location and select Dropbox. Sign into your Dropbox account if needed. If you need a Dropbox account, you can create one for free at dropbox.com. Choose the place you'd like to save the backup and tap Choose in the upper right corner. You can also name your backup file to something you would like. At the bottom of the screen, toggle Automatic Backup on. By default, OnSong will backup your library when you leave OnSong. You can select a timing interval that will work best for you. You can then either close the screen or start a backup immediately by tapping the Backup button at the top of the screen.
If you ever need to restore your backup, open the Songs Menu and choose the Songs Tab and tap on the "+" (or the box/arrow) button to open the Add Songs Menu. Locate the Import section and tap Dropbox and sign in if necessary. Place a checkmark next to the backup file. OnSong will warn you that importing a backup will overwrite the existing library. Once you agree, OnSong will download and restore your library just the way it was.
