Dropbox is a very popular method for storing files in the cloud. Use Dropbox to easily transfer files from all your devices into OnSong as well as retain a copy of your valuable files in the cloud to keep them safe.
Getting Started
To use Dropbox, you'll need to sign up for a Dropbox account. It's free and you get 2 GB of storage to start. If you refer a friend, you can continue to grow your free storage as well. While 2 GB is plenty of room for most things you'll need for OnSong, you can upgrade to more space with reasonable pricing.
Once you've signed up, you can install apps that let you easily place files on your computer into a Dropbox folder that will be synchronized with your Dropbox account in the cloud.
Adding Songs
Once those files have been synchronized, you can access them from OnSong. Make sure that you are connected to the Internet before you continue since OnSong will be retrieving files directly from the Dropbox cloud. To import, locate the Songs button in the upper left corner of the screen and tap to open the Songs Menu. Make sure that you have the Songs tab selected and that you are viewing All Songs or a book. Tap on the + button in the lower right corner to access the Add Songs Menu and then tap on the Dropbox option under the Import section.
Authorizing Dropbox
The first time you access Dropbox, you'll need to sign in and authorize OnSong to access your Dropbox. Just use the credentials you set up when you signed up for Dropbox. Once authenticated, you need to allow access to OnSong to access your Dropbox.
Importing Files
Once you're signed in, you won't need to do this again unless you sign out of Dropbox. You can then browse files in your Dropbox and place a checkmark next to the files you would like to import and then tap on the Import button in the upper right corner. Your files will then import and be visible in your Song List and the Song Viewer.
