An OnSong subscription allows you to sign into any OnSong app and access your features. For instance, if you subscribe to OnSong Premium, you can access premium features in any version on OnSong. In addition, you can continue to receive updates and new features and services. There are two ways you can acquire an OnSong subscription.
Subscribe via an In-App Purchase
If you've purchased OnSong from the App Store, you can purchase an OnSong Premium subscription through the app when prompted by accessing a premium feature. If you've downloaded the OnSong app from the App Store for free, you will need to create an account to use the app. To access features, you'll need to subscribe to either an Essentials or Premium tier when prompted. These purchases go through the App Store billing system.
Subscribe via the OnSong Website
While the App Store is a convenient way to pay for apps and subscriptions that you use personally, it doesn't have a way to subscribe as an organization, or to access features outside of the app. You can subscribe via the pricing page on the OnSong Website. There you can choose either a Solo or Group subscription depending on your needs as well as different pricing tier and billing frequency.
Switching Between Subscription Systems
While the App Store is a convenient and easy way to consolidate paying for apps and subscriptions on your Apple ID account, it does come with limitations. For instance, any issue with your account or billing must be handled by the App Store support personal. Also, developers are not able to access your information or seamlessly switch to a different billing system. For this reason, if you subscribe on the OnSong website, a new subscription and billing cycle will be created. You would need to cancel the original subscription, although you will likely not be able to receive a refund from the App Store.
Creating Multiple Accounts
One advantage to creating a subscription on the OnSong website is you can create multiple organizational accounts and administer those on the OnSong account system. This means that purchasing a new subscription on the OnSong website will create a new invoice and separate billing for those organizations. You can then manage and access billing information on each by switching accounts.
