OnSong Connect works by having each device register as a service on the local network. When you connect to devices, OnSong remembers the network address of these devices and listens for when those devices join and leave the network. Because OnSong Connect is designed to be as robust as possible, it will keep those connections active even when OnSong is placed in the background, or you shut down the app.
This works well as long as those devices are assigned the same IP address from the network. In this case, the connection is maintained, but issues could arise if the leader iPad begins listening to itself due to these network changes. The solution is to clear out any previous connections.
To do this, tap on the share icon in the Menubar to open the Share Menu. Tap on the Connect option to open the OnSong Connect Screen. Next, choose the Servers Tab and locate the Recycle button in the lower right corner. Tap on this button. This will clear out any previous connection information. Perform these same steps on any device that you use with OnSong Connect. Keep in mind that after you do this, you will need to reconnect to those clients.
While there are a variety of reasons why devices might not be working with Connect, we'd also recommend resetting your network settings and seeing if that helps. To do so:
1. Open the Settings app from your home screen.
2. Choose General, then choose the Transfer or Reset iPad option at the bottom of the screen.
3. Choose Reset at the bottom of the screen.
4. Tap on the Reset Network Settings option. (Note: This will forget all known WiFi networks and passwords)
5. The device will display a black screen and progress indicator and reboot.
6. Reconnect to wifi.
7. Open OnSong and try again.
